Zoku
Amsterdam
The first Zoku location has opened its doors in the heart of Amsterdam. The former office building on the Weesperstraat has been transformed to a new hotel concept for international travellers that want to stay in one place for a longer period of time.
The concept was created by Amsterdam based design agency concrete, who is also responsible for the design of the public spaces. Mulderblauw was responsible for the spatial configuration. The original building, designed by architect Arthur Staal, has been given a façade renovation, also elaborated by Mulderblauw.
zoku lofts
The lofts, ranging from 24m2 to 46m2 are located on the fifth floor. Each loft has a bathroom, kitchen and storage space. In stead of the bed, the focus point of each loft is now the living area with a dining table and a sofa.
social space
The traditional lobby has made way for an interactive and social space where guests can work, meet and eat or even cook together. This shared space is located on the sixth floor and offers richness in natural daylight due to the continuous storey-high windows.
green corridor
Located on the top floor of the building is the entrance to the hotel: a greenhouse filled with eatable green. Mulderblauw designed the construction in collaboration with a greenhouse builder. The greenhouse offers a panoramic view of Royal Theatre Carré and the Rijksmuseum.
WeWork Metropool
WeWork, an international office concept, is situated in the same building. Mulderblauw also contributed to this project facilitating the technical implementation. The complementing combination of projects ensures the occupancy of the building for years to come.
