Distribution centre Trade Port Noord

On behalf of Somerset Capital Partners, Mulderblauw made the design for a new distribution centre on business park Trade Port Noord in Venlo. This distribution centre has a GFA of over 82,000 m² and is situated on a Triple-A location in the Netherlands.

The building is located north of the A67 motorway and contains to back-to-back warehouses, with an additional 8,500 m2 office. The office volume of warehouse 1 is maximized by applying a double mezzanine. Due to this design element, it is possible for a German webshop to house their headquarters and distribution centre in this warehouse.
The office protrudes from the warehouse and is designed with glass and horizontal, dark grey lines. The warehouse consists of a dark concrete plinth and light grey metallic sandwich panels.
The stretched west facade, where the entrance of the building is situated, has a unique appearance by a wave in the facade in which a large window is designed. Behind this wave we placed a large tree and we concealed the sprinkler tank. This window and the windows in the side wall increase in number towards the large window. These windows are highlighted by a frame. The rounded corners, number of windows and a lowered concrete plinth give a certain softness to the building, and make the entrance stand out.
