Distributiecentrum AMS05
Schiphol Trade Park
On behalf of Somerset Capital Partners and AM Real Estate Development, Mulderblauw made the design for a large distribution centre on Schiphol Trade Park.
smooth and open
This business park is located on the Westas in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area, which is easily accessible by several kinds of transportation. Moreover, Schiphol Trade Park is the most sustainable business parks of Europe.
The distribution centre is characterized by the dark grey concrete plinth around the entire building. Giving the docks and the doors the same dark colour causes them to blend into the plinth, creating visual tranquillity. The façade is built up out of white, steel sandwich panels. The bright white colour, combined with the rounded corners, give the building a soft and open look and feel, what makes the distribution centre a calm focus point in the busy environment.
The large building includes an office part, located at one of the corners. This gave us the opportunity to add extra softness and transparency to this corner, by the subtle accent of horizontal strips of fenestration.
The high sustainability aspirations of this terrain – issued by Schiphol Area Development Company – are implemented in the chosen materials: the used materials have a high percentage of recycled content. Besides that, PV panels are planned for the roof of the entire building. In the realization of this project, we strive to obtain a BREAAM-Excellent (or higher) certificate.
Schiphol Trade Park is the most sustainable businesspark in europe.
